Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that burns longer and cleaner than paraffin wax. It has a wonderful scent throw too. We add coconut wax as it enhances the finish and burn of our candles. Our coconut wax is derived from coconut oil that goes through a process of hydrogenation. The coconut wax does not smell of coconuts, it has a neutral, natural wax scent.

Ginko & Rye candles contain our blend of coconut wax and organic soy wax. We add ready mixed vegan & cruelty-free fragrance oils and a wood wick – absolutely nothing else. Our candles are not suitable to be used as a massage product as our fragrance oils are for candle use and may not be body safe.

Yes! All of our candles are vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly.

All our candles contain fragrance oils. The reason we favour fragrance oils is that they are better suited to candles and have a much stronger scent throw than essential oils. The flash point of essential oils is much lower than that of fragrance oils which means they tend to evaporate faster, with a reduced scent as they burn.

Yes! All of our packaging is 100% recyclable. We prefer to repurpose our jars and bottles after use, usually for flowers, cute succulents or cactus plants, although other uses include storage for cotton buds, crayons and other random stationary items! Candle jars can be easily cleaned in warm, soapy water, or if you wish to keep the label intact, simply heat the jar in the oven to remove any remaining wax and discard this, wiping away any excess with a paper towel.

Our aim is to keep packaging to an absolute minimum – less waste, less recycling, less landfill. We are BIG on re-using the cardboard that comes with our supply deliveries. That's where our trusty shredder, 'Gary' comes in. He monches our cardboard down into your delivery packing - protecting your candles/wax & THE PLANET! We also include a wax safety information, Ginko & Rye's scratchcard lottery & a little thank you. That's it - simple but effective.

We aim to despatch all orders the same day or next day if they are received later in the day. Our orders are despatched via Royal Mail 2nd Class service.
